Emily Brontë

Wuthering Heights

Wuthering Heights

10/10
As much as I love the BDB. Wuthering Heights is, has and always will be my favourite book. My favourite ghost story. My favourite romance.
Cathy is mad as a hatter. Heathcliffe is moralless and cruel. They grow up together. Heathcliffe loves Cathy with all the insanity she possesses. But, when she gets a taste of the finer things in life she ditches Heathcliffe and in-so-doing sets in motion retribution never seen in novels before.
Cathy dies and the only people left to feel Heathcliffe's hatred is his nephew Earnshaw and Cathy's daughter to her husband, Catherine Linton. After using methods of deception to get the younger Cathy to Wuthering Heights that he now owns, he kidnaps her and forces her to marry his sickly son so that he gets to own all her father's estate. But, will he succeed?

Jane Eyre

Jane Eyre

"Jane, my hope! My love! My life!" Have such words ever been spoken!
"I only come back sometimes to call your name!"
If only there were such a man!

Can a master love a governess? Can they overcome censure?

There is only one problem. The problem. No man should cheat on his wife.

If you read this without crying I suggest you have no heart.
My second favourite Brontë novel.
